The Toledo Museum of Art will open “Losing Ourselves Together: The Art of Bobby Anspach” on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, with free timed tickets required for a guided experience through installations using light, sound and optical effects. The exhibition runs through March 14, 2027.
Presented in the museum’s Glass Pavilion, the exhibition brings the Toledo-born artist’s work to his hometown. The Bobby Anspach Foundation describes it as the first major American museum exhibition devoted to his work. Paintings, sculptures, drawings and archival materials accompany the installations. Paige Rozanski, the museum’s associate curator of modern and contemporary art, curated the exhibition.
Visitors begin with a short introductory film. The guided experience lasts approximately 24 minutes, according to the museum’s ticketing page. Visitors should arrive 10 minutes before their reserved time; people arriving after a session begins cannot enter that session.
The museum warns that the exhibition includes flashing lights, sound and enclosed spaces. Some portions may involve lying on one’s back. An ADA-accessible installation has a separate reservation page.
Tickets are listed at no charge for members and nonmembers. Reservation details and accessibility information are available through the museum’s online ticketing system.
